Maâlem Abdenbi El Faqir

Zaouia Issaoua

Born in Meknes in 1960, Maâlem Abdenbi El Fakir, the son of Maâlem Laarbi, uses the professional name “El Meknassi” in reference to his home town. He is a professional guembri player, mastering both the traditional repertoire and the more modern styles of Gnaoua music. He tours with his group in Morocco and abroad.
