FAQs

The 25th edition of the Gnaoua and World Music Festival in Essaouira will take place June 27-29, 2024 in Essaouira – Morocco.

  • The Official Festival Boutique is located at: 10, Rue du Caire, Old Medina, Essaouira, from 11am to midnight.
  • Passes will be available for purchase beginning June 26th at the Official Boutique, subject to availability. 
  • Tickets for intimist concerts will be available for purchase exclusively at the Official Festival Boutique and at the venue prior to each concert, subject to availability.

All badges must be worn with a bracelet. These bracelets will be available for pick-up at the kiosk located at Moulay Hassan Square parking lot from Wednesday June 26th, between the hours of 12pm and 12am.

  • Access to the main stages of the Festival is free of charge. 
  • Passes provide access to reserved space in front of the stage. 
  • Pass + bracelet are required and controlled on entry and on exit. 
  • Email confirmation is not considered a valid Pass. 
  • All passes purchased online MUST be exchanged for a Festival badge, which will be provided at the Official Festival Boutique from Wednesday June 26th through Saturday June 29th, from 11am to midnight. 
  • A bracelet MUST be worn with all badges. These bracelets will be available for pick-up at the kiosk located at Moulay Hassan Square parking lot, open noon to midnight from Wednesday June 26th.  
  • No refunds will be possible in the event of loss or theft of a ticket.
  • In the event of fraud, the ticket will be immediately withdrawn and will not be refunded. 
  • For safety reasons, unaccompanied children under 12 are not allowed in the area in front of the stage, nor in the intimist evening events. 
  • The public is hereby informed that it is likely to be photographed and filmed by the various Festival-accredited media throughout the duration of the event, and by the Festival’s official photographers and videographers. Any member of the public therefore consents to the use of their image in the broadcasting of any image or footage of the Festival, by whatever means.
  • 3-DAY PASS:  This Pass grants access to front-of-stage reserved areas at the Festival’s two main stages: 
    •  Moulay Hassan Stage: June 27th-28th-29th.
    •  Beach Stage: June 28th-29th
  • 1-DAY PASS: This Pass grants access to front-of-stage reserved areas at the Festival’s  two main stages for the evening’s date that is marked on the back of your badge. 
    • Moulay Hassan Stage.
    • Beach Stage.

No refunds will be possible in the event of loss or theft of a ticket.

Passes do NOT include tickets for access to intimist concerts at Borj Bab Marrakech, Dar Souiri, Bayt Dakira, Zaouia Issaoua and Zaouia Sidna Blal.

  • This ticket will provide access only to the intimist concert (name and date) indicated on your ticket.
    In the event of loss or theft of a ticket, no refunds will be possible.
  • MOULAY HASSAN STAGE: This stage overlooks the city, located mid-way between the beach and the medina for maximum audiences. No need for a map to find moulay hassan, just follow the crowd, and perk an ear to listen for the music.
  • BEACH STAGE: The stage for concert regulars, the beach stage programme is as eclectic as it is diverse. This is the place for groups and headliners who will perform solo concerts, to hear funk, soul, hip hop or reggae.
  • BORJ BAB MARRAKECH : Historic monument and high temple of exhibitions and artistic events, the walls of borj bab marrakech will welcome residences and fusion concerts.
  • DAR SOUIRI : This riad was built in 1907 inside the ramparts that were home to the provincial authority administration during the protectorate. Today, it is the headquarters of the essaouira-mogador association, and a space entirely devoted to culture.
  • BAYT DAKIRA : Bayt dakira bears witness to essaouira’s judeo-muslim past, the exceptional destiny of the jews of mogador, and their relations with the muslim populations, which have always been rich and benevolent.
  • ZAOUIA ISSAOUA : The sacred codes of traditional music are not to be forgotten, and zaouia issaoua is here to remind us. This religious structure is the burial site for the founding saints, and is synonymous with contemplation and spirituality.
  • ZAOUIA SIDNA BLAL :The spiritual birthplace of gnaoua, sidna bilal zaouia is home to one of the oldests moroccan brotherhoods in the city of essaouira, built upon the founding myth of gnaoua, the divine baraka of sidna bilal, the slave freed by the prophet sidna mohammed, who made him the first muezzin of islam. This sanctuary has played a very important role in the preservation and perpetuation of gnaoui rite and ritual in both processional and confessional aspects.
